Editorial management

Paradigma: Journal of Educational Research manages its editorial activities in accordance with the principles of transparency, academic independence, and scientific quality. The journal's editorial management ensures impartial, sustainable processes committed to open access to scientific knowledge.

The following policies govern the journal's editorial management.


 

I. Ownership and Editorial Management

Paradigma: Journal of Educational Research is published by the Instituto de Investigación y Evaluación Educativas y Sociales (INIEES) of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán (UPNFM). INIEES is responsible for the journal's editorial management, the implementation of its editorial policies, and compliance with the national and international standards applicable to scholarly publishing. Editorial decisions are made independently, based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance, and academic contribution of the manuscripts received.


 

II. Author Fees (APCs)

The journal does not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs) or any other fees at any stage of the editorial process, including: manuscript submission; peer review; editorial review; copyediting; editing and layout; and publication. The journal also does not charge fees for reading, consulting, downloading, or subscribing to its content. Since the journal does not apply APCs, it does not maintain a fee waiver policy.


 

III. Funding

The journal is funded through institutional resources provided by the UPNFM. The source of funding does not influence editorial decisions or condition the acceptance, evaluation, or publication of manuscripts. The Editorial Team performs its duties with full academic independence, ensuring the objectivity and impartiality of the editorial process.


 

IV. Advertising

Paradigma: Journal of Educational Research does not include commercial advertising on its website or in its published articles. The acceptance, evaluation, and publication of manuscripts are not influenced by commercial, advertising, or sponsorship interests.


 

V. Commercialization

The journal does not engage in the direct commercialization of its content. All published articles are disseminated in accordance with the journal's Open Access Policy and the applicable publication license.


 

VI. Calls for Papers

The journal maintains an ongoing call for manuscript submissions. Calls for papers are disseminated through:

  • the journal's OJS platform;

  • LatinREV;

  • institutional email;

  • academic networks and specialized scholarly media.

VII. Publication Frequency

Paradigma: Journal of Educational Research publishes two issues per year, corresponding to the months of June and December. Accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication in the next available issue, according to the editorial calendar and the progress of the editing and production process.


 

VIII. Editorial Quality and Continuous Improvement

The journal maintains an ongoing process of updating its editorial policies, editorial procedures, and publishing standards in order to strengthen the scientific quality, transparency, and international visibility of its published work.

The journal also promotes the gradual adoption of editorial best practices recommended by international organizations specializing in scholarly publishing, Open Science, and research integrity.
